Designing a torch to replace a Red Dot Award winner is a tough act to follow! (see Jutta Friedricks) Never mind doing it for a third of the original budget. This was probably the most challenging development I've ever worked on. I learned a lot about solar technology and the difficulty of working with acrylic. In the end this solar torch turned out really nicely and after only 3 months on the market is proving to be a markets success.
Dangle Keychains - Nice, carrying around one of your own designs in your pocket... the silver or white button is pulled out and the silicon tail is threaded through the keys. These where just 2 of 7 versions I designed, if these are successful I'd like to make the remaining 5.
After a year at Xindao, I was asked to take-over the sports & tools category and oversee the design for that season. We had never developed golf equipment so I thought I'd take a stab at it.
This came about after looking around at what was available in the market and finding that it would nice to have all the little things you might need while golfing, hanging on the outside of your bag. It holds 1 golf ball, 4 tees, a pencil, a divot tool and a ball marker.
While working for Philips, Singapore as a industrila design freelance i worked on the edge treatment of this TV, focusing on the corner transitions.
