As the lead designer for Brunswick's CZone Mobile app, I had the privilege of driving a team of 7 designers and a researcher to create an industry-leading user experience that is now being used by thousands of end-users worldwide.
Our initial focus was on building a high-resolution prototype to test core concepts with users in the field. This feedback helped us develop a comprehensive design system and library, which allowed us to quickly apply new brands to the interfaces and introduce new features to the ecosystem of accessories.
One of the key challenges we faced was designing an app that could accommodate different branded experiences while maintaining a consistent user experience. To address this challenge, we leveraged a modular design system that allowed us to customize interfaces for each brand while maintaining a cohesive overall look and feel.
Throughout the project, I gained valuable insights into systems thinking and the importance of design systems for complex design solutions. I also learned the importance of collaboration, as we worked closely with different teams within Brunswick to ensure that our design met the needs of the end-users.
Since the launch of CZone Mobile, we have seen a significant increase in user engagement and satisfaction ratings, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. I am proud to have been part of a project that has improved the lives of boaters around the world, and I look forward to applying the lessons I learned to future design projects.

More about CZone:
One app to rule them all
My team and I devised flexible platform that supported a wide range of boating technologies, from non-connected boaters to the most advanced vessels. Boaters now have all their previous apps under one powerful control center reducing friction and supporting all aspects of their boating journey.
Power of the glance
After a discovery period surveying the best in class frameworks for IOT apps, we introduced a “glance” based approach, providing a snapshot of systems specific to each vessel. Customizable to the captain, desired glances can be arranged to meet the needs of the person at the helm. Tapping into a glance gives detailed information and control to the user.
Control from afar
Whether a boater is onboard or on the couch, they are now taps away from their vessel systems and more! From monitoring battery levels to cataloguing a trip’s memorable moments, your experience as a boat owner has never been more enjoyable.
A brand agnostic platform
Brunswick, housing brands of luxury yachts to fishing boats, now has a platform that can be easily adapted to reflect the aesthetic and marketing goals for each market.
Platform-wide consistency
Leveraging the success of the “glance”, their flexibility was brought to an onboard power management system called Fathom where boaters can closely track their energy consumption, balancing their loads, and when called for be prompted to charge the systems.
As the lead user experience designer on this project, my task was to design a software solution that made the installation process of CZone hardware seamless for boat builders (OEMs). The software empowers users to control various systems of the boat through IoT software, providing a highly customizable and advanced experience for boat owners.
Throughout the project, I worked closely with stakeholders to ensure that the software solution met their unique needs. I designed the software solution from the ground up, with a focus on flexibility to easily incorporate new features and requirements without incurring laborious rework.
My user-centric approach to design resulted in an intuitive and user-friendly software solution that even non-technical users can easily install and operate without any difficulty.

As the lead designer on the Fathom system project, my team and I were tasked with developing an interface for the MFDs on boats equipped with the cutting-edge lithium-ion battery system. Working closely with engineers, product owners, and subject matter experts, I leveraged my expertise in design thinking and collaboration to bring the interface to life. Through rapid prototyping, user insights, and diligent effort, we were able to create an intuitive, user-friendly interface that allows users to easily monitor and control their power usage, while also customizing features to fit their specific needs and preferences.
Our efforts paid off when the Fathom system won the prestigious 2023 NMMA Innovation Award, recognizing its advanced technology and user-centric design. Our goal was to provide Fathom users with a seamless and efficient power management experience, and I'm proud to have played a key role in achieving this award-winning solution.

As the first full-time designer and Principle designer for the ProEdge team at PwC, I had the exciting opportunity to create a design system and develop the desktop and mobile application. Leveraging the design aesthetic provided by a branding team, I was able to implement a cohesive design that met the needs of our users.
One of the great advantages of the project was PwC's support in allowing me to pull in resources when needed. I collaborated with design researchers to understand user needs, sound designers to create an immersive experience, copywriters to ensure clear and concise messaging, and motion designers to bring the product vision to life.
The resulting application is a beautiful and functional learning platform that offers a personalized learning experience. The design system I developed has set the foundation for future iterations and has helped to establish a strong brand identity for ProEdge. Overall, it was an exciting project that allowed me to utilize my skills as a designer and collaborate with talented individuals across various disciplines.

In my first role at PWC, I worked as the sole designer for a small team of developers (and one product owner) to bring a product concept to life called "Launchpad" for the internal design team "BXT". Our goal was to create a platform that would help team leaders tasked with writing proposals to gather insights from people across PWC and facilitate brainstorming and idea development.
Using the branding supplied from the BXT team, I translated their aesthetic to work for a mobile application. Then with Adobe XD, we developed the Launchpad concept and tested it with over 25 users to get feedback. One key improvement that emerged from user feedback was the ability to invite specific contributors, in addition to pulling ideas from volunteers.
After incorporating user feedback, the Launchpad tool has been successfully implemented and is now driving innovation for PWC's clients. It has become a key tool for the BXT team and is helping to improve proposal development and idea generation across the organization.
While this was only a 24 hour design test, I’ve included it because i was proud of the result, and it yielded a job offer. Unfortunately the day after I was offered the job, on March 14 2020, COVID grounded all flights in America, and all hiring was frozen.
The prompt for this was “Design the mobile experience for a passenger that has had a flight canceled. The user will be provided with a hotel, and a meal.”
Shoutout started as an idea at a hackathon and our team took it all the way from concept to production. With well over five thousand downloads, this was the most rewarding of all my pet projects. download it today! http://tinyurl.com/jkcoq3r
The "Peek" app came about from the idea that rather than waiting for your friends to send you pictures you could actively "pull" pictures as you wanted them. Going further we thought that while selfies are fun, it would be cool to also see your friend AND their surroundings.
Upon receiving a peek request users have 10min to accept or decline, gaining or loosing them points and/or features. After accepting a Peek challenge, the app opens the front and rear facing cameras and takes a picture and sends it automatically.
